As the wintry air settles in and the festive season beckons, HoYoverse is gearing up to offer avid gamers of Honkai: Star Rail a special gift wrapped in the form of its latest update – version 1.6, known endearingly as "Crown of the Mundane and Divine." Set to deploy on December 26th, this update unwraps new territories, introduces intriguing characters, and launches thrilling events, ensuring that players’ adventures aboard the Star Rail extend into the new year with sustained excitement.

The Peacony world expansion, which became the talk of the town during this year’s The Game Awards, may yet be on the horizon - but before that unfolds, HoYoverse is dedicated to ensuring that the year concludes with an explosive narrative surprise. Version 1.6 of Honkai: Star Rail does exactly that by granting access to a heretofore concealed sector of the cosmos for players to navigate and discover its many wonders.

After resolving eerie disturbances within the Fyxestroll Garden in version 1.5, travelers aboard the Star Rail are beckoned back to the familiarity of Herta Space Station – only to meet the enigmatic Madam Ruan Mei. Encountering the Swarm King prototype and Swarm Disaster Entity amid her cloning endeavors, Ruan Mei inadvertently heralds chaos into the cosmos. This maelstrom of events leads players to the imposing Old Crater in the Borehole Planet, now a part of Herta’s Seclusion Zone, where perilous and undisclosed challenges await.

Amidst the anarchy, players are invited to lay down their arms momentarily to remember the joys of triumphant discoveries with within-game redemption codes. Additionally, Madam Ruan Mei takes center stage, not only as a new character to accompany your quest but also within the new downloadable content (DLC), the Simulated Universe: Gold and Gears. This DLC will witness players traversing the cosmos in a simulated reality by Ruan Mei's design, poised intriguingly on the cusp of Emperor Rubert’s demise. The gameplay is spiced with the introduction of the Path of Erudition – a mechanism underpinned by an innovative six-faced dice concealing undisclosed Dice Face Effects, revealed only through the collection of Trailblaze Secrets.

Venture a turn off the beaten path through the Panta Rhei event warp and be rewarded with the Dr Ratio character, an exciting new addition to your cosmic ensemble. Stepping away from the traditional battles, Honkai: Star Rail extends an adorable detour with Critter Pick Scavenging. This mission, a far cry from the usual fare, has players nurturing endearing lifeforms to curate an adorable squad from the cutest galactic fauna.
