If you want to catch Kyogre and add its entry to your Pokédex, then you need to know Kyogre’s weaknesses and counters in Pokémon Go.
Like all Legendary Pokémon, Kyogre will appear in five-star raids and unless you’re Level 50 and have maxed out counters, you’ll almost certainly need to team up with a group of trainers to defeat it. Kyogre counters and weaknesses in Pokémon Go
Beating raid bosses in Pokémon Go starts with understanding what the boss is weak against, and Kyogre is no exception. Here’s an explanation of Kyogre’s weaknesses and the best counters to defeat Kyogre in Pokémon Go:
Kyogre type – WaterKyogre is weak against – Grass and Electric typesKyogre Mega counters – Mega Sceptile is the way to go, followed by Mega Manectric, Mega Venusaur and Mega Ampharos, with each leaning into double Grass or Electric.Kyogre counters – The best non-mega counter for a mono-Water type is still Kartana, so make sure you bring one with Razor Leaf and Leaf Blade, if you have one. After that, we’re looking at Zekrom (but be aware that Kyogre has Blizzard), Xurkitree, Zarude, Primal Groudon (with Solar Beam), Raikou, Electivire, Thunderus (Therian) and Zapdos.Other Kyogre notes – Dragons come with the risk of being hit by a Blizzard, which is always going to hurt. Your best bet is to start with one of the recommended Megas, as this will buff your team-mates’ Pokémon and shorten how long it takes to take down this boss.
This Kyogre may or may not be to size.

Thanks to Reddit user Krusiv for the preview.
Kyogre debuted alongside the majority of Gen 3 in Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire; though it was exclusive to Pokémon Sapphire, since it was that game's mascot. This legendary Pokémon was also tied to the Pokémon Sapphire's storyline, with the evil Team Aqua planning to use its power to flood the majority of the world. Clearly they were massive fans of the movie Waterworld.
The Weather trio at it again.
Along with Groudon and Rayquaza, Kyogre is a member of the Weather trio — a group of Legendary Pokémon from the Hoenn region. Each member of the trio has control over a specific elemental sphere, with Kyogre's being the hydropshere, which means that it has control over all of the water in the Pokémon universe.
Hope you can add Kyogre to your Pokémon collection!
