Your appearance in Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the first things you set in the game - alongside your life path and core attributes.
The game opens with a character creator, allowing you to set V's skin tone, hairstyles, eye colour, scars and more.
However, if you're paralysed with choice like us, it might be worth knowing how important your appearance in Cyberpunk 2077 is - especially as it's a first-person game - and the good news is, following a post-release update, it's possible to change your appearance later in the game.

The answer is yes - you can change your appearance in Cyberpunk 2077 after the initial character creator screen thanks to a post-release update.
This wasn't the case at launch. Despite a number of Ripperdocs to visit and ways to install new implants, when it came to V's external appearance, those were off limits.
How to change your appearance in Cyberpunk 2077
First, make sure you have downloaded at least the update 1.5, released in February 2022. Though, any update after this works.
From there, visit your apartment and inspect the mirror in the bathroom to change your appearance in Cyberpunk 2077.
If Johnny appears in the mirror, then inspect the mirror again until V appears. Johnny's appearance isn't a bug, by the way - this is intentional!
Once you investigate the mirror properly, you can edit your character's appearance.
Don't worry, the garb comes off when you enter the character editor mode.Note that if you are resuming a save after the update 1.5, know there are a number of new character customisation options - including new selections of lip and eye makeup to choose from.
Finally, know that all apartment locations will allow you to change your appearance.
Where can you see your appearance in Cyberpunk 2077?
Since Cyberpunk 2077 is a first-person game, you won't see your version of V too often. The main points you'll see V include:
On your inventory screenWhen looking at a mirror; this is an option in your apartment and other locations, as well as in key cutscenes such as the end of the life path-specific prologueRiding vehicles when viewing in third-personIn Photo ModeIt's the inventory screen you'll see V the most frequently - though that said, chances are they will be dressed in all kinds of random gear, including hats and gas masks, if you're like us and prioritise stats over anything else - this is an RPG after all. Although, there is now an option to dress in an outfit that lets you keep all the good stats of gear and have a little style at the same time.
Speaking of clothing - you can unlock a few Witcher-themed items with Cyberpunk GOG rewards, regardless of your platform.
