The reason is because it isn't too new and mysterious when compared to other game genres. Players take on the role of Jino, who must solve all the mysteries surrounding the Devil Book book. This ancient book holds many secrets. After mysteriously vanishing, it resulted in a cascade of deaths and disappearnces. In these kinds of games, the focus lies on the gameplay and how the player can survive in the game. The game's plotline must also center around enemies, characters, power and mechanics. This is similar to other Japanese media like anime or manga. Classic One Touch Mechanisms render Manipulation obsolete since it's unable to effectively communicate its message due to the ease of use with a touch screen. Any action can be performed or object can be selected by simply touching the screen.

Devil Book's rich content and structure help it stand out from other games. This includes its arrangement of topics, as well as its nature as a genetic system.
