Melee Weapon Use Guide

In Black Ops 6, you can equip a knife by holding down the 'V' button on PC or pressing the right stick on a controller. This is different from past games (such as Modern Warfare 3), where melee weapons usually took up the secondary weapon section. With the official release of BO6, there is now a third slot designed specifically for more compact weapons, giving you a total of three tools in your equipment.

If you've performed a finishing move before, the melee interaction utilizes the same buttons and flow. The only difference is that the finishing move requires an enemy Operator to be nearby, similar to the returning shield feature. So, as long as no one is around, you can equip your melee weapon freely. You also activate unlimited tactical sprints while holding this tool, making your movement more efficient.

Note that the standard "switch weapon" interaction does not work for melee weapons. However, you can use this feature to swap out knives as both your primary and secondary weapons.

The baseball bat and knife are the only two tools in the melee weapon category. The knife is unlocked automatically, while the baseball bat requires reaching level 52. More melee weapons may be released in the future, so stay tuned for more options in the upcoming seasons.
